Comments about Alpinestars Soho Gore-Tex BootsOk so I have had a few chances to ride in monsoon-like rain since buying these boots. They are very very water tight. They also breath as well as can be expected from a pair of Gore-Tex leather boots. I wear wool technical socks I got from a outdoor sport store and keep my feet from feeling clammy. Good for walking around town too.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Alpinestars Soho Gore-Tex BootsTo be honest, I haven't been able to use these boots too much so far. In general, they fit well and are comfortable. The inner sole is the worst part of the boot - they don't fit well inside the boot and have a few wrinkles that feel slightly uncomfortable but don't cause discomfort. I am considering getting new insoles (e.g., superfeet). The boot is well constructed and with the full-length zipper on one side and hook & loop fastening on the other, the boot opens up wide and is easy to put on and take off. The soles offer excellent traction. The leather seems solid and robust and is supple for a new boot. They are comfortable both riding and walking although to my first point, I haven't used the boots for too much of either as yet. If I have one criticism it is that the moulded inserts that cover the medial and lateral malleoli (ankle bone protusions) are small and not ideally located. I would prefer larger, more substantial protection in this area. Hopefully I won't have to test it. The style of the boot is excellent. I don't look like a racing geek when wearing them with a pair of jeans when I am off my bike (BMW K1200LT). Overall, I am happy so far.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
